New Homeowner Information

Membership and payment of dues are mandatory.
Under the deed restrictions, Oak Parke homeowners are required to become members of the Oak Parke Homeowners’ Association. New Oak Parke homeowners are responsible for promptly contacting the management company to get registered as members of the Oak Parke Homeowners’ Association. (This information should have been provided to you by the seller of your home during closing.) The management company will provide you with instructions on how to remit the required Association dues.

Under Texas law (Texas Property Code, section 5.008), the seller must provide the buyer with disclosure of the condition of the property. This disclosure must include information about the requirements of homeowners’ association fees.

Using Oak Parke amenities.
Use of the Oak Parke recreational facilities is available only to Oak Parke homeowners in good standing. Entrance to the swimming facility is controlled by an electronic key fob, issued by the Association. Most years the Association has sales of key fobs in the amenity center at announced times during the Spring. At other times, the key fobs may be obtained by mail from the management company. When using Oak Parke’s shared amenities, you should be knowledgeable of the Oak Parke Code of Rules and Regulations, especially Chapters 7 and 8.
Governance
The Oak Parke Homeowners’ Association is run by an elected board of directors, who in turn employs a management company to handle most Association business matters. The powers and activities of the board are authorized by the deed restrictions for the Association. The board, in turn, acts to provide services to the Association, make budget decisions, and apply the principles expressed in the deed restrictions. Policy decisions made by the board are memorialized in the Code of Rules and Regulations. All Oak Parke residents should take time at least once to read these two key documents of the Association.
Communication
The board normally meets once every other month and will consider your concerns then. All members of the Association may participate in the annual meeting held each February. The board maintains an email distribution list used for ongoing communications with the membership, and all residents are urged to join the distribution list.
Your Neighbors
One of the reasons Oak Parke is a great place to live is because our homeowners are considerate of each other in many ways. They keep their yards well cared for, they control their pets, they avoid making unnecessary noise. Please join your established neighbors by keeping this same neighborliness.
